Nairobi, Kenya – March 31-April 4, 2025 – The TourEdu4All project, a collaborative initiative aimed at enhancing access to Tourism Vocational Education and Training (VET) for vulnerable groups, is set to kick off its Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) in Nairobi, Kenya. This significant event brings together key stakeholders from Greece, Kenya, Namibia, and Gambia to discuss the findings of recent study visits and share best practices in the tourism sector.
The project, led by AKMI (Greece) in partnership with TVETA, Kibondeni College and CSFK in Kenya, and other esteemed institutions from Germany, Spain, Namibia and Gambia, seeks to empower disadvantaged groups by developing a Holistic Model for inclusion in tourism VET courses. By fostering knowledge and skill exchange among partner countries, TourEdu4All aims to strengthen the capacities of tourism VET institutions and promote entrepreneurship through digital technologies.
Agenda Highlights:
- Day 1 (March 31): Opening remarks by Josphine Njuguna from Kibondeni College and keynote addresses focusing on the challenges and opportunities in Kenya’s hospitality sector.
- Day 2 (April 1): Sessions on CBETA standards, distance learning, and the integration of entrepreneurship in VET.
- Days 3-5 (April 2-4): Intensive TPM meetings and site visits, including a presentation at Nairobi National Polytechnic and a tour of the Kenya Wildlife Research and Training Institute.
Prominent speakers, including Dr. Kipkirui Langat (CEO TVET Authority) and Nobert Talam (CEO Tourism Regulatory Authority), will contribute their insights on the future of tourism education in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
The TourEdu4All initiative underscores the importance of inclusive educational frameworks that cater to the needs of marginalized communities, ensuring equitable access to quality training in the thriving tourism sector.
